We are unfortunately living at a moment in time when lying is labeled an “alternate fact”; when intelligence, scientific inquiry, and truth are seen as inconvenience; when too few control the vast majority of the planet’s assets; when it is easier to look away rather than confront evil, when fear of “the other” has caused us to hurl insults, build walls or uncharitably turn our backs on their need. I believe I have a civic responsibility to reply to such injustice by employing my artistic skills.
